3 Doors DownDuck and Run Lyrics:
To this world I'm unimportant,
Just because I have nothin' to give.
So you call this your free country,
Tell me why it cost so much ta live.
Tell me why, emm,
This world can turn me down?
But I won't turn away, yeah, no, no.
And I won't turn around.
All my work and endless measures,
Never seem to get me very far.
Walk a mile just to move an inch, now,
Even though I'm tryin' so damn hard.
I'm tryin' so hard.
This world can turn me down,
But I won't turn away.
And I won't duck and run,
'Cause I'm not built that way.
When everything is gone,
There's nothing there to fear.
This world cannot bring me down,
No 'cause I am already here, oh, no.
I'm already here, down on my knees.
I'm already here, oh, no, I'm already here.
I must have told you a thousand times,
I'm not runnin' away.
[Instrumental break.]
I won't duck and run.
I won't duck and run.
I won't duck and run.
No, no-no, pass away.
This world can turn me down,
But I won't turn away.
And I won't duck and run,
'Cause I'm not built that way.
Everything is gone,
There's nothing there to fear.
This world cannot bring me down,
No 'cause I'm already here.
This world can turn me down,
But I won't turn away.
And I won't duck and run,
'Cause I'm not built that way.
But everything is gone,
There's nothing there to fear.
This world cannot bring me down,
No, 'cause I am already here.

1 "Duck and Run" is the third single from 3 Doors Down's debut album, The Better Life,
and the band's third consecutive #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart, staying there
for three weeks. Despite not reaching the Billboard Hot 100, it did fairly well on these
other charts: Modern Rock #33, Austrailia #17, Canada #20, Switzerland #28, and U.K. Rock #24.
Following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11,
2001, the song was placed on the list of post-9/11 titles considered inappropriate and were
not played on several channel, no doubt causing the low rating on the Billboard Hot & Pop 100.
An interesting side note: The liner cover of 3 Doors Down's single bears the same image as
the one found on the cover of The Apex Theory's debut album, Topsy-Turvy.
2 Chris Henderson often goes by the name "DJ Smooth" or "Deep."
