{1}"Here Without You" is the third single from the album, Away from the Sun. It peaked at #5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in November 2003. It has since been certified Platinum in the United States and Australia. It scored big on a number of other charts as well: Modern Rock #22, Mainstream Rock #14, U.S. Hot Adult Top 40 #1, Austrailia #3, Canada #3, New Zealand #8, Switzerland #6, U.K. Rock #1, and Germany #23. Brad Arnold, in an interview with [Songfacts], states that the main inspiration for this song was his now, ironically, ex-wife. "The song is about being away from someone and missing them... and about the lonliness that comes with missing someone. It's also about a state of peace that comes with dreaming of the missed loved one. The lines 'And when the last one falls/when it's all said and done..' mean that even when the world falls apart, the love never dies."
