It did well on several other charts too: U.S. Hot 100 #55, Mainstream Rock #1, U.S. Pop 100 #54, Australia #1, Canada #2, New Zealand #5, Switzerland #8, U.K. Rock #2 and Germany #78. It was written about Brad Arnold's childhood friend who got mixed up with drugs. It isn't necessarily Brad calling his friend a loser, but more what Brad's friend thinks of himself. The song received much radio airplay on rock and hard rock stations, and became a crossover hit, appearing on many pop radio stations.
