What's that, that I hear ringing would someone get the phone
Wondering if she'll ever come home
I've had no sleep, sad songs, I'm stoned
Our love a fading memory as I chase another down
My eyes are getting heavy and my head's spinning 'round
Still wondering if she'll ever come home
I've had no sleep, sad songs, I'm stoned
Closing time, I try for home not feeling any pain

I've had no sleep, sad songs, I'm stoned

Our love a fading memory as I chase another down
My eyes are getting heavy and my head's spinning 'round
Still wondering if she'll ever come home
I've had no sleep, sad songs, I'm stoned...

However, there is no denying that Alabama is a country band. The bandmembers' pop instincts may come from rock, but their harmonies, songwriting, and approach are entrenched in country. A sleek, country-rock sound made the group the most popular country group in history, selling more records than any other artist of the '80s and earning stacks of awards.
