Lyrics
Lake shore drive
2000 miles
For eddie
I am a robber
Ive got to get home
Last of the night
Midnight plane to
Nicotine in the nick
One-night stand
Shot of gold
Skipper's fiesta
Slippin' away
Snow queen
The only thing worse
Uppers downers live

Aliotta, Haynes & Jeremiah Santa Ana Lyrics:
Toss on the pillows, turn on the sheets,
The wind outside won't let you sleep,
Oh no, (oh no,) ((oh no, it's Santa Ana 1 .))

A voice from the desert howling your name,
Try not to listen, it'll drive you insane 2 ,
Oh no, (oh no,) ((oh no, it's Santa Ana.))

((Fire in the mountains, fire in the skies 3 ,))
((Make you crazy it's so goddamned dry,))
((Santa Ana.))

((Santa Ana cuts like a knife,))
((Sometimes makes you fear for your life.))
((Santa Ana is the devil wind 4 ,))
((Too hot for love, too hot for sin.))

((Mm-ah-oooo.))

Aliotta, Haynes & Jeremiah Santa Ana Lyrics Information:

SANTA ANA
Written by: Skip Haynes & Eugene von Heitlinger
Performed by: Aliotta, Haynes & Jeremiah 5
First released: 6
Single: None
Album 1996

1 The Santa Ana winds are strong, extremely dry offshore winds that
characteristically sweep through in Southern California and northern Baja
California in late fall into winter. They can range from hot to cold,
depending on the prevailing temperatures in the source regions, the Great
Basin and upper Mojave Desert. However, the winds are remembered most for
the hot dry weather (often the hottest of the year).

2 People say that when the Santa Anas blow that they have an effect on
them, much like the full moon might affect someone. From his book Red
Wind,
Raymond Chandler, a popular mystery novelist, writes, "Those hot dry
winds that come down through the mountain passes, curls your hair and make
your nerves jump and your skin itch. On nights like that every booze party
ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and
study their husbands' necks. Anything can happen."
There are countless
references to the Santa Anas in literature, songs and films.

3 The combination of wind, heat, and dryness accompanying the Santa Ana
winds turns the wooded areas into explosive fuel, feeding the infamous
wildfires for which the region is known.

4 The original name of these winds seems to trace back to when the
Spaniards populated Southern California. They were called Satanás winds,
from the Spanish vientos de Satáno "winds of satan."
