1 "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" debuted at #65 on
September 21, 1974. At first Bachman was embarrassed by
the song because he thought it was a stupid, just
something that he wrote as a joke. Much to his surprise,
in seven weeks it went all the way to the top of the
U.S. Hot 100. Though they had other hits, none reached
#1 as this song did. On the UK version of the single,
the label credits the band as "Bachmann Turner
Overdrive." It was kept off the top in the UK charts by
"Lonely This Christmas," by Mud.
2 Also known as B.T.O., group members at the time of
this recording:
The Bachman family name is pronounced "Bakeman," in
Ireland, where B.T.O. lives. The band uses this
pronunciation when referring to themselves. The
alternative pronunciation of Bachman, "Bockman",
especially on American radio, became so widespread that
the band no longer made the correction and both
pronunciations have become acceptable.
