Dionne WarwickTheme from "Valley of the Dolls" Lyrics:
Gotta get off, gonna get...
Have to get off from this ride.
Gotta get hold, gonna get...
Need to get hold of my pride.
When did I get, where did I...
How was I caught in this game?
When will I know, where will I...
How will I think of my name?
When did I stop feeling sure, feeling safe,
And start wondering why, wondering why?
Is this a dream, am I here, where are you?
What's in back of the sky? Why do we cry?
Gotta get off, gonna get,
Out of this merry-go-round.
Gotta get on, gonna get...
Need to get on where I'm bound.
When did I get, where did I...
Why am I lost as a lamb?
When will I know, where will I...
How will I learn who I am?
Is this a dream?
Am I here?
Where are you?
Tell me, when will I know?
How will I know?
When will I know why?

Dionne Warwick Theme from "Valley of the Dolls" Lyrics Information:
1 "(Theme from) Valley of the Dolls," from the film of the same name, had
initially been intended for Judy Garland, before she was fired from the film. At
the urging of one of the film's stars, Barbara Parkins, the song was given to
Warwick. Warwick's Scepter version of the song, however, was different from the
film version because Warwick was signed to Scepter, but the soundtrack was
released on 20th Century Records. Warwick was permitted to appear only on the
film's actual soundtrack and not the studio recording. In 1968, Warwick's single
peaked at #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 for four weeks in February, #2 on the
Adult-Comtemporary chart, #13 on the U.S. R&B chart, #4 in Canada, #28 in the UK
and #59 in Australia.
