{1}The autoharp is a musical, stringed instrument having a series of chord
bars attached to dampers which, when depressed, mute all the strings other
than those that form the desired chord. Despite its name, the autoharp is
not a harp at all, but a chorded zither.
{2}A deerstalker is a type of hat, that is typically worn when hunting,
especially. Because of the hat's popular association with Sherlock Holmes,
it is also a stereotypical hat of a detective. The deerstalker's main
feature is a pair of fore and aft brims and two flexible side flaps. The
dual brims provide sun protection for the face and neck of the wearer. The
side flaps can be worn down or tied under the chin to protect the ears in
cold weather and high winds, or tied up above the crown to keep them out of

Downliners Sect biography
Of all the British R&B bands to follow in the Rolling Stones' footsteps, the Downliners Sect were the rawest. The Sect didn't as much interpret the sound of Chess Records, as attack it. Long on crude energy and hoarse vocals, but short on originality and songwriting talent, the band never had a British hit. They did, however, have some sizable singles in other European countries. Despite their lack of commercial success or appeal, the band managed to record three albums, various EPs and singles, between 1964 and 1966, with detours into country-rock and an EP of death-rock tunes. Although a version of the group recorded both before and after the Downliners Sect of the mid-1960s, it is the work from 1964 through 1966 that continues to attract connoisseurs of '60s garage and punk.
