Growing up in a family of twelve
I shared all my stuff
Growing up in a Middle Class neighborhood
sure sure was rough.
The kids on the street now they would sing
and dance, the ones that were out there
still looking for their chance.
Everytime I passed a wishing well
I would toss a cent, I grew up very poor
and coundn't pay my rent. Mom and dad
worked a medium job so I could live
My lyrics and music is all that I could give
Sitting up at a quarter to three to write
down something great

and using him for his bait
well I'd spread my wings and fly into the night
because all these hooks in this song sure sure
were right!
S and G taught me how to be a man
As I sit here now with a million dollars
in my hand, I'm gonna go to the wishing
well and toss more then a cent, because
no matter what I put in the well never
pay back all the wisdom they lent!
Built me a house up on top the hill
In gold letters is engraved the Word
The Gills.
