By Faron Young
You used to hold me
You used to kiss me
A long long time ago
As we're introduced again
you said that we were old friends
But you used to hold me
you used to kiss me
a long long time ago
And to me it seems so strange
to call you by another's name
Cause you used to hold me
you used to kiss me
a long long time ago
Just seein' you again makes me remember
a long long time ago when you were mine
But it's too late to live

Or to turn back old pages of time
As you turned and walked away
I thought again of yesterday
When you used to hold me
you used to kiss me
a long long time ago
steel
Just seein' you again makes me remember
A long long time ago when you were mine
But it's too late to
live my life all over
Or to turn back old pages of time
As you turned and walked away
I thought again of yesterday
When you used to hold me
you used to kiss me
a long long time ago

Faron, the youngest of six children, was born on February 25, 1932, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He grew up on a dairy farm his family operated outside the city, and he got his first guitar at an early age. By the time he was out of high school, he had joined a country band that was performing at local clubs.
He graduated from Fair Park High School in 1951, and then attended Centenary College of Louisiana. But he left college to join the [Louisiana Hayride]{1} as a regular performer. While on the [Hayride,] he met Webb Pie.....MORE.....(full Faron Young biography) ←
