1Cannon's version is only one verse and one chorus, a highly abbreviated
version of the original song. Also, the song itself, and Freddy's
rendition of it, are very unlike his usual style. However, Frank Slay and
Bob Crew, the owners of Swan Records, wanted Freddy to do a concept record
and came up with the idea for all of the songs on the album tp have the
name "blue" in the title. I guess they just went for ANY song with blue in
the title!

2Freddy Cannon was dubbed "Boom Boom" because of his thundering musical
renditions.

3Alice Blue Gown was first performed in the Broadway production, Irene,
in 1919. It has been covered by such notables as Red Nichols & His Five
Pennies, Benny Goodman, Harry James & His Orchestra, Glenn Miller & His
Orchestra, Artie Shaw & His Orchestra, Chet Atkins, Jackie Gleason, Earl
Hines, Debbie Reynolds, Pete Fountain, The Arthur Murray Orchestra, Louis
Prima & His New Orleans Gang, Edith Day, Frankie Masters, et al.
