What went wrong with our love
A love so rare and strong
And as I walk along I think of
The times we had together
While our hearts were young
I'm a' walkin' in the rain, tears are fallin' and I feel the pain
Wishin' you were here by me
To end this misery and I wonder, I wa wa wa wonder
Why, why, why, why, why, why, she ran away?

I'm a' walkin' in the rain, tears are fallin' and I feel the pain
Wishin' you were here by me
To end this misery and I wonder, I wa wa wa wonder
Why, why, why, why, why, why she ran away?

My little runaway, a' run, run, run, run, runaway
A' run, run, run, run, runaway

In 1999, Decca closed its doors. However, Allan's contract was picked up by MCA-Nashville, which released his [Smoke Rings in the Dark] album later that year. The album combined most of what Allan did best, dusty honky tonk and country ballads.
