Clapping and shouting.
(One more time.)
(A-one, a-two, a-one-two-three-four.)
Talking over the sung intro (next three lines):
(Wo, wo, bom-dee-day-dee-day.)
(Wo, wo, bom-dee-day-dee-day.)
(Wo, wo, bom-dee-day-dee-day. Wo, wo.)
Instrumental intro.
A-don'tcha know that I danced,
I danced till a quarter to three.
A-with the help, that night, with Daddy "G."{1}
A-he was swingin' on the sax with a terrible tune,
An' I was dancin' all over the room.
A-don'tcha know the people were dancin',
Like they were mad.
It was the swingin'est band they had ever had.
An' the swingin'est song there could ever be.{1}
Is "A night with a-Daddy 'G.'"
A-let me tell you that, I never had it so good.
Yeah, an' I know you never could,
Until you get hep, an' a-with that jive,
An' dig a band like the Church Street Five.{1}
Don'tcha know that I danced,
I danced till a quarter to three.

Everybody was a-happy as a-they could be.
But they were swingin' with a-Daddy "G."
A-blow Daddy!{2}
Instrumental feature with saxophone solo by Gene "Daddy 'G'"
Barge and interjections from Gary "U.S." Bonds.
A big beat, Daddy! Yah!
A-yay-yay-yay-yay-yeah!
A-just a little bit of soul, now!
Ahhh, yeah!
A-let me tell you that I never had it so good.
Yeah, and I know you never could,
Until you get hep an' a-with that jive,
An' dig a band like the Church Street Five.
Don'tcha know that I danced,
I danced till a quarter to three.
A-with the help, that night, with Daddy "G."
Everybody was a-happy as a-they could be.
But they were swingin' with a-Daddy "G."
A-blow Daddy!
A-blow, blow Daddy!
A-yay-yay-yay-yay-yay-yeah!
Oooohh, yeah!
Clapping.
Fade.
A-blow Daddy!
