1 The Mersey Ferry runs between the Pier Head at
Liverpool, and the Wirral terminals at Seacombe,
Wallasey and Woodside, Birkenhead.

2 The River Mersey is a river in northwest England. It
is 70 miles (113 km) long, stretching from Stockport,
Greater Manchester, and ending at Liverpool Bay,
Merseyside.

3 The single releases of "Ferry 'Cross the Mersey"
peaked at #6 in the U.S. and #8 in the U.K. on their
respective pop charts. In May 1989 a charity version of
"Ferry 'Cross the Mersey" was released in aid of those
affected by the Hillsborough disaster. It was recorded
by Liverpool artists The Christians, Holly Johnson, Paul
McCartney, Gerry Marsden, and Stock Aitken Waterman, and
held the #1 spot in the UK chart for three weeks.

Beatles' original records as well as playing piano on

artists) of, Ferry 'Cross the Mersey, a 1965 film
directed by Jeremy Summers. In the film Gerry and Fred
Marsden, Les McGuire, and Chad Chadwick portray
themselves. The plot revolves around the early 1960's

by day and musicians by night and whose big break comes
