They say there was a fire on the night it died.
All I am is gone, still the soul holds on.
They tell me of a hero on the other side.
Oh, but all that I remember is the children were in danger,
On the other side.
Children laugh and sing on the other side.
Angels earn their wings on the other side.
On the other side.
They say that you were with me when the legion fell.
Strange to have you near after all these years.
You say I couldn't possibly have done it by myself.
Did you see our photgraphs, as they crumbled into ash?
On the other side.
Children laugh and sing on the other side.
Angels earn their wings on the other side.
On the other side.
And I, who never could believe, never saw the need,
Wanted just to see your face again.
Nothing to hold on to. Now I found you.

Children laugh and sing on the other side.

On the other side.

[2] Attempting to save money on the production of the album, God & the FBI, the
core group (instruments & vocals by Janis, Jim Cregan, Marc Moreau, and Philip
Clark), did all the singing (with the exception of "Memphis") and either played
all the instruments or created the sounds. When Ms. Ian wanted a full choir for
the requiem at the end of this song, everyone learned their parts in Latin and
sang in various octaves, doubling and tripling tracks until the effect was
achieved.]
