2 Bronco is a truck-like automobile model made by the Ford Motor Company.
It generally has 4x4 traction, meaning all wheels get torque from the
transmission equally to help keep the vehicle from slipping.
3 Truck and tractor pulling, also known as power pulling, is a competition
using tractors and large trucks to pull a heavy sled along a track and is
very popular in rural areas. Usually the sled offers progressively greater
resistance as it is pulled. It can be a great spectacle, although the
pulling vehicle produces a great deal of noise and smoke, and tends to kick
up dirt.
4White Rain is a brand of hairspray that was very popular in the 1950s
through the 1970s. It is considered, by some, to be a bit unsophisticated.
5 Pall Mall is a famous brand of unfiltered, American cigarettes produced
by the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Compan y in Winston-Salem, North Carolina,
and internationally by British American Tobacco at multiple sites. The
cigarette's name is correctly pronounced "pell mell," as made evident in old
television and radio advertisements. With the 1970s' advertising bans on
tobacco, first from the radio and then from television, the correct
pronunciation has been compromised. Those who lived in the era of the
audible ads pronounce it "pell mell" while those who have only the title on
the packag to refer to, often use the increasingly more common pronunciation
of "paul maul."
6 Laura Ingalls (a.k.a. Laura Ingalls Wilder) was both a character on the
American TV program, Little House on the Prairie, about a family living on
a farm in Minnesota in the 1870s and 1880s; and the actual author of the
books from which the TV show was adapted. The show aired on the NBC network
from September 11, 1974, to May 10, 1982.

drags, is a form of off-road motorsport popular in the United States. The
goal is to drive a vehicle through a pit of mud. Winners are determined by
the distance traveled through the pit or, if several vehicles are able to
travel the entire length, the time taken to traverse the pit.
9 The Amoco Corporation, originally Standard Oil Company, was a global
chemical and oil company, founded in 1889 around a refinery located in
Whiting, Indiana. It later absorbed the AM erican O il CO mpany, hence
the name Amoco. In the song, the narrator is referring to the gas station.
10 Kraco Enterprises, is primarily a fabricated rubber products
manufacturing company. While they mainly produce floormats, they have also
produced tire walls and low-end speakers. Kraco was founded in 1954 in
Compton, California.
11 "Hick," somewhat of a perjorative, is generally used to describe a
culturally unsophisticated, boorish person or a rube, according to
dictionary.com. It follows that a hicktown is a place where hicks live. In
this song the term is used more as a term of endearment. "Hicktown" is
Aldean's debut single and his first Top 10 hit. It peaked at #10 on the
Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in late 2005. Also, it reached #68 on the
U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #27 on the Canadian Radio & Records Country
Singles Chart. "Hicktown" has become Aldean's signature song, and typically
closes Aldean's concerts. A music video was released for the song, directed
by Wes Edwards. The video takes place in a field with people partying and
driving on mud, while Jason Aldean and his band are performing.
