1 In November of 1996, Jesus Christ Superstar was remounted at
London's Lyceum Theater. Directed by Gale Edwards,
this version was updated to appeal to a new generation of fans and
the lyrics are slightly different from the more familiar versions.
Referred to as the "Lyceum Production," which was relatively successful,
was recorded in the studio with most of the original cast.
Soon after the album was made the cast changed to
became the European touring company.
