1 According to the lyrics found on the sleeve of the album, Son of a Son of
a Sailor, at two places in the song the lyrics are supposed to be
"cheeseburger IS Paradise." It's pretty clear on this cut that Buffett is
saying the word, "in" not "is." Many speculate that this is simply just an
error on the lyric sheet. However, in live performances it is said that
"cheeseburger IS Paradise" can be clearly be heard. Also, another
lyrical-confusion is in the second chorus, in the line, "medium-rare with
Münster," (which is the name of a cheese), "would be nice." The line is
commonly mistaken as "medium-rare with mustard would be nice."

2 "Cheeseburger in Paradise" reached #32 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has
become one of Buffett's best-known songs. In 2002, Buffett's company
Margaritaville Holdings, LLC, licensed the name of the song to OSI
Restaurant Partners as the name of the Buffett-themed, Cheeseburger in
Paradise, restaurant chain. As of 2006, the restaurant has 38 locations in
17 states in the United States. A Cheeseburger in Paradise is also a menu
item at Buffett-owned Margaritaville Cafes located in the United States,
Mexico, and the Caribbean.

3a The Coral Reefer Band is Buffett's touring and recording band.
Originally it was a fictional band consisting of the imaginary members,
Marvin Gardens, Kay Pasa, Al Vacado and Kitty Litter. The name "Coral
Reefer" alludes to coral reefs (in line with Buffett's tropical-themed
music), and also "reefer," which is slang for marijuana. The term is also
related to sailing in that a sailor who shortens, or "reefs," a sail is also
called a reefer.

3b There are many venerable alumni of the Coral Reefer Band, but too many
to mention. And since I'm not sure which of them recorded this song, I'm
going to list just the lineup as of 2007.
