3Soul Train was a music-related, daily television program that premiered
in Chicago in 1970. In its 35-year history, the show primarily featured
performances by rhythm and blues, soul, and hip hop artists, although jazz
musicians and gospel singers have also appeared. The program was created by
Don Cornelius, who also served as its first host and executive producer,
and through syndication, aired across the country from 1971 to 2006, with
reruns continuing until 2008.
