Johnny Cash Lyrics
Mp3 Lyrics!
It ain't me, babe
Hurt
Ring of fire
I walk the line
I won't back down
Cry, cry, cry
Folsom prison blues
I've been everywhere
25 minutes to go
Bridge over troubled
One piece at a time
Country boy
Man in black
Would you lay with me
I hung my head

At San Quentin (The Complete 1969 Concert)

I remember when I was a lad,
Times were hard and things were bad.
But there's a silver linin' behind every cloud.
Just poor people, that's all we were.
Tryin' to make a livin' out of black-land dirt.
We'd get together in a family circle singing loud.

Daddy sang bass, mama sang tenor.
Me and little brother would join right in there.
Singin' seems to help a troubled soul.
One of these days and it won't be long.
I'll rejoin them in a song.
I'm gonna join the family circle at the Throne.
No, the circle won't be broken.
By and by, Lord, by and by.
Daddy sang bass, mama sang tenor.
Me and little brother would join right in there.
In the sky, Lord, in the sky.

Now I remember after work,
Mama would call in all of us.
You could hear us singing for a country mile.
Now little brother has done gone on.
But, I'll rejoin him in a song.
We'll be together again up yonder in a little while.

[ 1 ] Carl Lee Perkins (April 9, 1932 – January 19, 1998) was an American
pioneer of rockabilly music, a mix of rhythm and blues and country
music, recorded most notably at Sun Records in Memphis, beginning in
1954. An outstanding performer, his touch on rock and roll music is
still heard to this day, especially through his fine compositions and
guitar playing. Perkins's songs have been recorded by artists as
influential as Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Johnny Cash, which
further cemented his place in the history of popular music. His best
known song is "Blue Suede Shoes." ]
