Lynyrd SkynyrdFree Bird Lyrics:
If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
Yes I for I must be traveling on, now
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see
If I stayed here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you'll never change
Lord knows, I can't change
Bye, bye baby it's been a sweet love, yeah, yeah
Though this feeling I can't change
Oh please don't take it so badly
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame
If I stayed here with you now
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now, how about you?
And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you'll never change
Lord knows, I can't change
Lord help me, I can't change
Lord I can't change
Won't you fly a free bird, yeah

Lynyrd Skynyrd Free Bird Lyrics Information:
"FREE BIRD" 1
Written by: Allen Collins & Ronnie Van Zant
Produced by: John Carney
Performed by: Lynyrd Synyrd 23
First released: 4
Single: November 1974 (Length 4:41)
Album: April 1973 (Length 9:08)
1 "Free Bird" (aka "Son of Stairway" 5 ), was
originally intended as a tribute to the deceased Allman
Brothers Band guitarist, Duane Allman, with its funereal
organ beginning setting the tone. In later years, the
song's mythology was fueled when three of the
bandmembers died, including lead singer Ronnie Van Zant,
in a fiery plane crash in 1977. "Free Bird" is a
Southern-Rock standard in the quintessential, power
ballad style of heavy-hitters, "Stairway to Heaven" 5 ,
"Dream On, 6 " and the blatantly copied, "Green Grass
And High Tides 7 ." Released as a single in late 1974,
"Free Bird" became the band's second Top 40 hit on the
Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1975, where it peaked
at #19. A live version of the song also reached the
Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1977, peaking at #38. Not
only is it Lynryd Sknyrd's longest song, it also
achieved the #3 spot on Guitar World's, 100 Greatest
Guitar Solos. It is used as a finale for the band's live performances.
