It was only a moment, a brief, fleeting moment
He captured her soul in her eyes
But then it was gone; her attention moved on
But he remained there mesmerized.
Now the image lives on, and while gazed at by many,
She stares out, unflinching and proud
And just like before, the author, ignored
Anonymous in the crowd.

But though you could say that he’d created her
he knew that she would never be his for the taking.
So he stood alone, regarding the seed that he’d sown,
a bud that had grown into a beautiful blossom
and he felt like a boy who had had a kite, let it go,
knowing it would rise in flight above the clouds
up high to disappear in the never ending sky,
further and further and further away.
