[1]"Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" is among the most successful of Bob11
Dylan's early songs. It was written by the 21-year-old singer/songwriter in12
October 1962. Though Dylan claims composing credit, the tune is taken from on13
an old song called, "Who's Gonna Buy Your Chickens When I'm Gone," which14
previously had been borrowed by folksinger Paul Clayton for his song "Who's15
Gonna Buy Your Ribbon Saw." Over this tune, Dylan wrote a lyric reflecting on16
his separation from his girlfriend of the time, Suze Rotolo, who was away in17

the song under the title "It's All Right," with some minor lyric variations23
from the familiar version that is shown here. Peter, Paul & Mary recorded24
this version later in 1963. Other covers: Joan Baez, Bobby Bare, Chuck25
