Stanley Victor "Stan" Freberg, born in Pasadena, California on August 7, 1926, is an American author, recording artist, animation voice actor, comedian, radio personality, puppeteer, and advertising creative director whose trailblazing satire greatly expanded the vocabulary of the comedy form.

Freberg pushed the envelope in many mediums, creating high-concept musical comedies and sound collages that revolutionized the audio format while setting the stage for the hallucinatory sonic visions of the [Firesign Theatre]{1} and the [National Lampoon]{2} troupes.
