1 "Aquarius" (not to be confused with the 5th Dimension's album titled, "Age of Aquarius"),
and "Let the Sunshine In" (also called, "Let the Sunshine In (The Flesh Failures)"), are two
songs from the rock musical, Hair. Hair, whose full title is Hair: The American Tribal Love
Rock Musical opened Off-Broadway in 1967 and then opened on Broadway and in London in 1968.
Hair has since gone on to be produced all over the world as well as being made into a major
motion picture (1979). The medley by the 5th Dimension, "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In," hit #1
on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for 6 weeks, It remained on the U.S. Adult
Contemporary charts at #1 for 2 weeks. The song peaked at #6 on the US R&B chart and in Canada
it reached #1, in the UK, #11.
