1 The single reached the #3 position in the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in
1965. Several devices employed in "Let's Hang On!" that made it a favorite:
First, the introduction sung by Frankie Valli is a hook; second, one guitarist
playing low notes on a fuzz guitar while another plays high notes on a fuzz
bass; and three, a chorus loaded with hooks, sung in falsetto with backing
vocals that give a great counterpoint to Valli's lead.

2 Frankie Valli (lead tenor vocals, songwriting), Bob Gaudio (keyboards, tenor
vocals, songwriting), Tommy DeVito (lead guitar, baritone vocals) and Nick Massi
(bass guitar, bass vocals), were the original members of The Four Seasons. These
four were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Vocal Group
Hall of Fame in 1999. There have been at least 30 different members of the Four
Seasons, or one of their various guises, over the years with Valli and Gaudio
the only constants. Jersey Boys, a musical play based on the lives of The Four
Seasons, directed by Des McAnuff premiered on Broadway on November 6, 2005, to
generally positive reviews and subsequently won multiple Tony Awards.
