the late 1920s revue, "Lew Leslie's Blackbirds of 1928," which was
popularized by Aida Ward & William McClean. In 1936 Billy Holiday revived
it, and then again in 1943 it was a hit for Lena Horn & Bill Robinson.
This song didn't enjoy that much longevity.
2 Personnell: Russell Thompkins Jr., James Dunn, Herbie Murrell, James
Smith & Airrion Love. Thompkins was the lead vocalist with a great falsetto
and the other four men sang backup harmony.
