The Supremes Where did our Love go Lyrics:
[Footstomping throughout.]
Baby-baby, baby, don't leave me.
Ooo, please don't leave me all by myself.
I've got this burning, burning,
Yearnin' feelin' inside me.
Ooo, deep inside me and it hurts so bad.
You came into my heart (baby-baby),
So tenderly. (Where did our love go?)
With a burning love (baby-baby),
That stings like a bee.
(Baby-baby, ooo, baby-baby.)
Now that I surrender (baby-baby),
So helplessly. (Where did our love go?)
You now wanna leave, (baby-baby),
Ooo, you wanna leave me.
(Baby-baby, ooo, baby, baby.)
Baby, baby, where did our love go?
Ooo, don't you want me (baby-baby),
Don't you want me no more (baby-baby)?
Ooo, baby (baby-baby).
[Instrumental break.]
Baby, baby, where did our love go?
And all of your promises (baby-baby),
Of a love forever more.
(Baby-baby, ooo, baby, baby.)
I've got this burning, (baby-baby) burning,
Yearning feelin' inside me.
(Where did our love go?)
Ooo, deep inside me (baby-baby),
And it hurts so bad.
(Baby-baby, ooo, baby, baby.)

You were a perfect guy.
(Where did our love go?)
But now that you got me (baby-baby),
You wanna leave me behind.
(Baby-baby, ooo, baby, baby.)
Ooo, baby, baby, baby, baby don't leave me,
(Where did our love go.)
Ooo, please don't leave me (baby-baby),
All by myself (baby-baby).
Ooh, (baby-baby).
[Fade.]
Baby, baby where did our love go...

[1] When The Supremes made their Motown debut in 1961, they were Diana Ross,
Mary Wilson & Florence Ballard. In mid-1967 Ballard left the group and was
replaced by Cindy Birdsong, after which they were billed as Diana Ross &
the Supremes. Ross left the group toward the end of 1969 (with the
execption of one show in Las Vegas in January 1970), to pursue a solo
career. She was replaced by Jean Terrell and the three of them recorded
under the name, The Supremes, until 1977 with a few personnel changes along
the way. Only Mary Wilson stayed with the group from beginning to the end.
[2] One of the most interesting aspects of "Where Did Our Love Go," was its
rhythm section, primarily footstomps, performed by a teenager named Mike
Valvano, who stomped down on two wooden boards suspended by strings, to
create the illusion of a group of foot-stompers.
